Education
Confirmation Class
Confirmation Class is for boys and girls of approximately 10 years whose
parents have determined their readiness to prepare for the sacrament of
Confirmation. Students are pre-schooled in basic Church dogma and
biblical knowledge; and they are instructed in the Church's authority
and structure, as well as her life in the sacraments, worship and
prayer, especially as they are understood within the parameters of the
Book of Common Prayer and traditional Christian Year.
Inquirer's Class
Inquirer's Class is for adults of all ages and backgrounds who are
interested in Catholic teaching, practice and structure within
traditional Anglicanism. It is also the course for those baptized
Christians seeking Confirmation. The class revolves around a chosen
primer in Christian doctrine which is read, studied, and discussed to
provide a concise explanation of basic Christianity and to answer any
questions one might have about the Anglican perspective on the Church,
especially her sacramental approach, her spirituality, and her worship.
Sunday
Adult Forum
Sunday Adult Forum is usually taught by a priest on a variety of
elements of the Church's life including: doctrinal matters, biblical
studies, dogmatic controversies, history, and biography. It is also an
opportunity for both clergy and lay to discuss current events,
especially as they apply to the Church and her life in the contemporary
world.
Wednesday Bible Study
Wednesday Bible Study is usually taught by a priest at 7:45 pm, focusing
on either an exposition of a specific book or passage of Scripture as it
has been traditionally understood by the Church Fathers and Anglican
Divines. Attendees are encouraged to bring a study Bible, commentary,
or other theological work related to the Scriptural passage and/or
topic.
Thursday
Bible Study
Thursday Bible Study is usually taught by Deaconess Linda Burns at 10:30
am, emphasizing growth in the spiritual life or topical Scriptural
themes and persons. The studies are designed for the Christian woman,
although all are welcome to attend.
Sunday
School
Sunday School is provided for children ages 4-18 on Sunday morning
between the 8 am and 10:15 am services. The youngest are educated in
basic biblical knowledge according to the stories, persons, and
teachings of the Old and New Testaments; middle and high school students
receive advanced Church teaching, in addition to instruction in
Christian spirituality and virtue.
